    Question Failing cdc's

Has anyone had a troop that has done this wonderful feat? I'm going thru the motions now and it's not too fun.

Actualy douchbag, I have. My 7 lvl at that. A CDC failure is not always the troops fault. There are a lot of factors that can contribute to a CDC failure.

If done right, its not really that much of a pain, but judging by you pre-disposition to the situation, I think you will be able to find your way through it. Talk to your UTM (unit training manager).
How do I know you're not from CONTROL?

Neither of us is dead, so I'm obviously not from CONTROL.
    That actually makes sense.

I have a troop that failed twice and he is putting in for cross training right now. He is one hell of a worker, just not good with the books.

Thanks for calling me out. When an airman passes all his pre-tests with 95+ then I'd think he's ready to test. There were some distracting factors that took place, tdy, pressure, friend in town that needed a car/driver. I did my cdc's both 5 and 7 and I didn't have a problem. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I was able to do it. Studying at work for an hour is now part of his routine to help him and I have to go and see the Commander tomorrow with my airman. I'll fight to the death for this kid, great worker and doesn't question directions given to him by ranking individuals. I have his back 100% thank you. I've already talked to my UTM and they've suggested everything that I've done.

If you put in the time and effort and study and fail then there was something wrong. He said with the first question he had no clue which in turn frustrated him for the rest of the test. The good thing is that we have a few months to do this. Another thing that upset him was that he found out after his test was set and went in on that date he could have waited another 4 months because they extended him because of his tdy.

You can tell the airmen who fail on purpose and just want out and he's not one of them. I doubt the commander will let him cross train if he fails again.

Yeah I have worked with quite a few people that have failed their CDC's... I know that it is a bit of work for the supervisor after the fail.. Is the guy/girl a good work, and just not very good with the books?? Are they planning on staying in, or do they want to stay in?? I mean it is a matter of whether or not they want to be in, as to whether it is worth spending the time and effort to try and get them a second chance or not!! I am a kick a$$ worker, just suck with the books, I was actually really surprised I didn't fail my CDC's honestly... as I don't test for crap, no matter how much I study!!

Thats not why I called you out Josh! Look at what you wrote! Does that sound like a statement that would be followed up with " I'll fight to the death for this kid, great worker and doesn't question directions given to him by ranking individuals. I have his back 100% thank you."! No!

All I ask is that we, as NCOs, do not do what we complain about airmen doing on other sites. We are not here to talk about people like that. I understand that may not, or was not your intentions, but lets all please think abot what we are writing.

Imagine if you troop was a member of this site and found this thread. What do you think his impression would be of you if all he read was the first post. Untill now, there was no in depth explanation.

I failed mine b/c I can't memorize stuff, and memorization is the only way to pass my 7 lvl CDCs b/c 60% of the questions are about parts of my job that I have never worked in my 7 yrs in. That coupled with poor testing habits and terrible testing anxiety makes for crapy scores.

A CDC failure is harder on the testing person than most people realize, even if it appers that they done care, it still hurts.

I am not here to, nor in any position to judge, nor in any position to tell you how to manage your troops and appologize if I offended you in any way Josh! That was not my intent at all.

I'll tell you what I don't understand. I know of an Airman who didn't pass his CDC's but busted out Staff the first time and they are pretty much the same test. That tells me that he was more motivated about how SSgt would give him more money than his CDC's. This guys priorities were backwards.

Not saying that any or everyone has thier priorities right. Can't start sterotyping airmen now can we?

I am not stereo typing. That was an example of two that I know of. It all depends on each person and I don't judge them if they fail or not.
