Fail Good conduct medal?

so the AF brought back the good conduct medal? it was kinda weird for me to magically have another ribbon plus a device on it when i didnt even know about it. and does anything else think we get a ton ribbons? i mean, we get a ribbon just for being in for 4 years? and a device for every 4 after that? whose idea was this?

All the branches of the military have some sort of longevity recognition, the Army, Navy, and Marine Corp have hash marks on their sleeves, we get a sweet ribbon. Not everyone gets a Good Conduct either, your unit commander has to sign off on it. I'm glad to have the Good Conduct back, we were the only branch to not have one.

Now if we could just get a decent combat uniform....

I never took mine off of my rack. Just keep adding devices.

I am glad that they brought back the Longevity ribbon as well... And yes a decent battle uniform would be nice... it is def. not maintenance, or worker (actual worker, not desk jockey) friendly!!!

Shadow... you have to look at she may not have only been in for four years... there may have been a time period that the ribbon wasn't around and she didn't get a device or counted for that time period, or hasn't gotten that time period counted at the time of the picture!!

She was out of uniform because there is no way on earth to make Chief that fast.

Exactly right. For those that don't know, I am a Chief Master Sergeant. If you made every stripe the first time and got below the zone, the fastest you can make Chief is 14 years. I have only seen one guy do it in the 25 years I have been in. The average (for those that actually make Chief) is 21-22 years.

She's a chief... she's not out of uniform... or at least I won't be the one to point it out or question it... I still have that bowl that catches all of the **** that rolls down hill... she has three roofs to cover herself!! LOL!! I will be happy to make SMSgt. by the time I get ready to retire honestly!!!

Well if I saw her running around with her ribbons wrong, I would of approached her. Better to hear it from a fellow Chief than a Junior NCO or Airman.

Was the device a silver oak leaf? That would put her over 20 years.
